This is a video about Jonathan Webb who’s just built America’s biggest greenhouse. His company agricultural technology or AgTech underpins the future of farming and can also address the devastating job losses in the region. Having secured more than $100 million in funding, AppHarvest unveiled a 60-acre controlled-environment agriculture facility in 2020. The company says they are reducing water use by 90% by using only recycled rainwater, employing the help of robotic harvesters to pick tomatoes, for example, at optimal ripeness, and using an LED system developed by Philips that fosters maximum plant growth.
