Cell organisation
- Cell OrganisationLiving organisms are either multicellular (made up of more than one cell) or are unicellular (made up of just one cell)
- Cell structure and organisationCells come in a variety of shapes and sizes but all share the same characteristic features, such as a cell membrane, cytoplasm, a nucleus and mitochondria. These all have their own jobs to do and make sure the cell can function smoothly. Plant cells have additional features, including a cell wall, vacuole and chloroplasts.
This video covers: - What a cell is made up of - How a tissue is a group of similar cells that work together to perform a common function - How an organ is a group of different tissues that work together to perform a common function - What an organ system is.

Cell Culture
This is a video lesson explaining the techniques of cell culture and some contemporary examples of their use.
- Tissue cultureThe cultured tissue may consist of a single cell, a population of cells, or a whole or part of an organ.
Cells and tissues
This tutorial is an introduction to the histology of the different tissues in the human body and the cells they are made of.

Specialised cells and tissues
- Specialised animal cellsSpecialised animal cells have components that allow them to complete a specific purpose.
Specialised animal cells include red blood cells, sperm, eggs, nerve cells, muscle cells, ciliated cells, and villi.
Video explains how specialised cell structure suits their function.

- Tissue typesA tissue is a group of cells, in close proximity, organised to perform one or more specific functions.
This video gives a brief history of histology and introduces the different types and functions of the human body's tissues.
